Sometimes The Problem Isn't The Problem

by Prima Jope

Sometimes the business problem is not really a business problem.

Sometimes the recurring issue in your relationships is not the real issue.

Sometimes the conflict with your teenager is not about the thing you're arguing about.

Sometimes what looks like inconsistency, overthinking, people-pleasing, avoidance, or control is actually the same deeper pattern showing up in different forms.

The visible problem might be: I keep having the same argument with my spouse. I carry too much and resent everyone for it. I keep choosing emotionally unavailable men. I keep finding myself back in the same place.

On the surface, those look like different problems. But often, they are different expressions of the same pattern. The same operating system. The same inherited script. The same fear. The same way of coping. The same place where you are still tolerating what is quietly costing you.

The work is not to keep managing the symptom. The work is to get underneath the pattern that keeps recreating the issue in the first place.

  1. 01

What recurring situation in my life keeps changing shape but not resolving?

  2. 02

What underlying pattern might be producing it?

  3. 03

Where am I still trying to manage a symptom instead of naming the source?
